Greetings, back from the dead again with some WIP Sons of Horus.
These guys are are done up to the oils stage which will define all the armour plates alot more.
Firstly, the Azreal counts as:
Second is some apothecaries, after the oils I'll add some more blood to their armour, removing progenoids can be a messy business.
Next is my take on the Worldeaters, which I'll be using as assault marines, they'll all be getting MkIV jumppacks and butchers nails markings.
In the vein of the WE's, the Sgt for the squad, or some kind of preator if the WE section gets out of hand.
Finally . . . . .
Thanks for looking.

Absolutely gorgeous work, I love the power weapon, as well as the WE sergeant, great conversion.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Night Lord helmet in the last pic?
Thanks mate :)
DeleteYeah its a Nightlord, I've always loved the legion, and the writing by Aaron Dembski-Bowden has just fleshed them out in a way that makes them impossible for me not to do atleast a squad.
The new HH rules for them also make them fitting allies for the Sons.
Please cast that Night Lords helmet. Or maybe just the wings. Whatever you want. I WILL PAY YOU HANDSOMELY. :D
DeleteWay better than what Forge World just showed. Sight.
Nice! Those really turned out looking awesome - love the green you ended up with. Definitely looking forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, shame you live in the US, a throw down with your Iron Hands would be epic
DeleteWhich kit do the nightlord wings come from? This looks very promising!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate. Its actually the collar piece from the plastic necromancer model cut in half. I wish I had more of them.
DeleteI've seen some people use the wings from the vampire counts skeleton box as well.
Greetings from Belarus, m8! Absolutely love your SoH color! My problem is that I don't have Vallejo Panzer aces paints available here, Model color and Game color only, plus GW paints and washes. Do you think that I can achieve that tone (or at least approach it) using some other green color from Vallejo or GW range? I'm thinking Deep/Dark Green, maybe, Emerald or Scurvy Green? Park Green Flat? Biel-Tan Green wash over it? Any advice is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHi mate, thanks for checking in.
DeleteAs to the colours, if you can't get the panzer aces colours (no on line ordering in Belarus?) there is an article in this months white dwarf that has an excellent sons army in it, and in it the painter describes how he did it using the new GW paints.
If you can't get a hold of the WD, let me know and I'll write down the formulas for you :)
