Contemptor done!

Boomsauce!

Not much to say really except I'm much happier with the scheme now. Part of the reason it took so long to paint was the lack of inspiration i got from the scheme, but I pushed through, and I really like it now.

This is the first time I've tried the blue heat effect on the melta, and I like it but, but might try and make it alittle more subtle next time.

Anyway, enough blather, heres the rest of the pics

. More on the harpy next, and then the first demi squad of SoH.

    1. Thanks mate, there's not a lot of wiggle room in the colour scheme since its set by FW, but the weathering I think gave me some nice scope to play with effects on those colours.

    3. Zac: I used a mix 75:25 of Vallejo Panzer aces USMC tankcrew:GW Astronomicon grey as the base coat, laid down with an airbrush.

For highlights I used a 50:50 mix of the same (through the airbrush too), then straight grey line highlights, before adding the chipped weathering with a sponge, using the grey first, then chardon granite.

      Oils and pigments to taste.

      Hope that helps some.

  3. One thing I have noticed since looking at these photos is that flatness of the eye of Horus, I'll have to redo that one with the airbrush at some point.

  4. Very nice. I like the uncluttered look of the scheme. With all the weathering it has plenty of depth.

    PS: 'Boomsauce'?
